Running a business means we don’t get a lot of time to give back. We all get busy !! It’s hard to stop when the phone keeps going, LCA audits 😫 or a client wants a report, yesterday 😅. I’ve always tried to take a break, not only for my own sanity but for my family and a big part of giving back is helping my local Scout group. From being the safety officer on the Executive committee, to helping with group camps, to helping on Remembrance day escorting the young people to the church, to even teaching plumbing skills to Scouts. Its great to see the young people carry out tasks and activities they wouldn’t usually do. I’ve just been to the annual AGM and was more than surprised when I heard my name being called out for an award, I didn’t expect at all. Proud to help 😁
